TX-TERT Information for Agencies

If you are in immediate need
of assistance from TX-TERT, click here.

In order to participate in developing dispatchers for deployment, TX-TERT has established standards of operation and participation guidelines for agencies. It is not necessary to be a participating agency in order to receive assistance during an emergency.

Participating 9-1-1 agencies receive educational material for TERT deployment; guidelines for participation; state chain-of-command mandates, rules and regulations; and an outline of the education level 9-1-1 operators must meet prior to being deployed.

An informational packet for Texas PSAP’s is currently being developed. It is a guide for PSAP managers or supervisors to have at their fingertips to walk them through the paperwork, questions, and activation guidelines required for a quick and successful deployment. The information will be available on this web site.

To determine what level of training an individual needs according to his or her level of responsibility during a multijurisdiction, multiagency, multidiscipline incident, refer to the NIMS Five-Year Training Plan (updated February 2008). Also available from FEMA are NIMS-related online training courses at www.training.fema.gov.
